Brass Monkey named Boston’s “Startup to Watch”

Remember that WIRED event last Wednesday night?

We won it! The Boston Startup Community and its friends voted us THE Boston Startup to Watch.

Alexis Ohanian from Reddit playing "Contamination"

Our demos were extremely well received. We had some serious competition from the guys at LevelUp, PerkStreet, Practically Green and Directr, who all demoed their awesome products with us, but in the end it’s hard to compete with a video game system when the goal is to entertain a room full of people with an open bar. Even panel lead and Reddit founder Alexis Ohanian and the guys from Chief Disruptor award recipient Kiva Systems played a few rounds of Contamination and Rakete.

Alexis Ohanian (Reddit), Max Goldman (Directr), Susan Hunt Stevens (Practically Green), Dan O'maley (Perkstreet), Michael Hagan (SCVNGR/LevelUp) and our own fearless CEO, Chris Allen

Our CEO, Chris Allen, rocked out on the panel and gave shout outs to some of our dear friends in the Boston Indies community, as well as our beloved local lunch and coffee spot City Feed and Supply in Jamaica Plain. It was a serious blast. And our thanks go out to Wired Magazine and Marriot for both the awesome party and the totally sweet prizes!

In other news- for those of you who didn’t check out Boston FIG you missed out on an awesome time. Our congratulations and thanks go out to Fiona Cherbak from Irrational and Brass Monkey’s own Caroline Murphy, who really put on an amazing show. We met some really cool devs and showed off to some really cool gamers and it’s looking like we’ll have some new games to show for it real soon.

Last but not least… a new game releases tomorrow…
