Brass Monkey is pleased today to announce our first adventure title, 2012 IGF Student entrant, “DUST” by Adventure Club Games.
Dust tells the story of an explorer who finds a journal in an abandoned village and must use clues within it to pilot her sand skimmer through a treacherous desert in pursuit of a lost oasis, all the while being chased by a whale-like monster that swims through sand.
Dust challenges players to explore and find tools to survive the dangerous trail to the oasis, with racing/obstacle course challenges along the way to avoid both the monster that pursues them and various more mundane navigation hazards in the open desert.
The environment is surreal and beautiful, and provides a glimpse into a world with a complex history with a superb sountrack to set the mood.
Because DUST uses Brass Monkey controls players can feel free to set the game to full screen (or even run it to their TV), pick up a smart device to use as a controller, sit back and take it all in. The playthrough takes roughly an hour.
