We’ve heard from some people that the puzzle games on Brass Monkey are some of their favorites and they’d like to see more puzzlers on our site.
Today we’re pleased to be putting out a new puzzle game on playbrassmonkey.com, Ariel Jurkowski’s “Attacher”. A game where you play as a lonely quadrilateral with the ability to attach yourself to various crates throughout the world and stack them in order to reach great heights, use them to cross bridges and overcome various other obstacles by using them creatively. Attacher has nice, calming but melancholy music and graphics to set the mood and keep you engaged as you guide your 4-sided protagonist ever rightward in pursuit of happiness.
And if you don’t get your fix there remember that we’ve got a few other selections to challenge your reasoning rather than your reflexes:
Mario Von Rickenbach’s “Rakete”, which we made a blog post about awhile back, is a really simple but incredibly fun multiplayer game where you pilot a lunar lander type vessel safely from takeoff to launch, with each player controlling only one out of five thrusters. It can be played with 2-5 people, but the more you have the better you can likely do… provided your group can learn to work together. To date this is still one of our favorite games to demo.
We understand that it looks easy. But try it and see if you still think so.
Currant Cat’s “The Convergence” is another really clever puzzle game. This time instead of many players balancing control of one character one player must control two characters simultaneously, guiding a pixel-art husband and wife team over spikes and switch puzzles to reach a single goal, but every move you make will be mirrored by both characters… so plan your path carefully.
Finally, one of our earliest games, Candescent, provides a turn based challenge to memory and deductive reasoning for a single player. In Candescent you control a living ball of light who must make leaps through a darkened labyrinth, delivering an occasional pulse of light to try to determine the best path to the goal.
Other than that we’re still counting down the days until our Nitrome game release, if you haven’t heard about the 10 awesome games coming out in the not too distant future on both our site and Nitrome.com please follow the link above. This is going to be some of the best stuff on Brass Monkey yet, so tell your friends!
